Turkish Lira:
The national monetary unit
is the Turkish lira (TL). The coinage is in 50,000 100,000 and
250,000 liras denomination. Bank notes are of 500,000, 1,000,000,
5,000,000 10,000,000, and 20,000,000 liras. Exchange offices in tourist
areas are generally open until midnight, and the exchange rates for
foreign currencies are published daily. All major credit cards are
accepted.

You can exchange major currencies in two ways. You can use banks or
exchange offices (DÖVİZ),
both of which can be found in the city center.
Generally choosing
these exchange companies will be profitable than the banks.
Money
exchange offices are open for longer hours than banks and do not
charge commission. Many are open also on Saturdays.

usually not let you choose which language to carry out the transaction
in. Also, in smaller places, you might have trouble finding one that
takes your card.
